Episode #2 – The Reality of Life in the CIA with Doug Patteson

    Doug Patteson is a former case officer with the Central Intelligence Agency who served in several different postings overseas throughout the 1990s. 

    Doug and I discuss the CIA employment process, the training pipeline, and what it is like when you and your family are living a double life in a dangerous environment. He had the opportunity to work with some of the legends of the intelligence community including Billy Waugh. Doug also witnessed the end of the Cold War and the dawn of the era of international terrorism as the number one global threat. We also talked about what led him to leave the CIA after more than a decade, and what he has been up to in recent years.

    It’s great to talk to someone who is so open to sharing his experiences with so many people who are eager to learn more.
